With the release of iOS 14, we have been given a workaround to customize our home screen icons. This workaround can, at first, seem daunting. But by using the simple & easy to follow steps below, you’ll be a wizard at it in no time. Which is just in time to make all your friends jealous of your new iPhone home screen.

First things first, here is a list of things you'll need to use custom icons.

  1. An iPhone, or iPad, running iOS 14, or later.

  2. Apple's Shortcut app downloaded

  3. A pack of icons downloaded and unzipped.

iOS 14 is required for you to customize your icons. Luckily, it's pretty easy to check if your device is already on iOS 14.

To do this:

  1. Go to the Settings app

  2. Click on “General”

  3. Select “About”

Next to “Software Version” you should see "14.0.1" or newer. If this number is lower, you’ll need to update your software before continuing.

Now, you'll need some icons. We recommend our Ebony pack. It's our most popular pack of 240 icons, that's 120 premium icons and 120 minimal icons. Once you've purchased and downloaded the zip file, remember to unzip it so you can access the icons.

Nice! Now, let’s get started.

  1. First, find or download the shortcuts app.

  • Then, select the add button in the corner.

  • Next, press "Add and Action. "

  • Select "Scripting"

  • Then, "Open App"

  • Now, Choose the app

  • Select, the more icon in the corner.

  • Click "Add to Home Screen"

  • Name the icon, then select the small icon.

  • Find the icon

  • And then click "Add"

  • Hurray! You did it!

Congratulations! You've just put your first custom app on your home screen.
